On Jan. 9, 2012, VerityThree earned the Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 16 (SSAE 16) certification, which replaces the SAS 70 reporting standard.   The new SSAE 16 standard will bring VerityThree and other US companies in the service industry current with the ISAE 3402 international standards.

The SSAE 16 went into effect June 15, 2011, and all service industry businesses must issue their service auditor reports under the new SSAE 16 standards.

The following are the critical components of the SSAE 16 write up:

• The fairness of the presentation of the description of the service organization’s system;
• The suitability of the design of the controls to achieve the related control objectives stated in the description; and
• The operating effectiveness of those controls to achieve the related control objectives stated in the description (Type II Only)
